At the end of day 6 we stopped in a new hotel ryokan shinjuku mix thingy. It was a nice hotel and was famous for the village with special roofs that could withstand heavy snowfall. The onsen was nice but the place was kinda boring but a nice stop to rest and prepare for Kyoto.

Japan day 6
Waking up when you slept for the fist time on the floor.... is hard on your body when one is not used to it. I`m writing this message at a later time and it is ok if you know some tricks like stacking futons to ease the pain. But for today we had planed to walk to a other village, yes WALK as if we did no do enough of it hehehe ;_; But the scenery made all the pain go away.. but I was not really in pain just a lazy Dutchmen that was no used to moving... O_o Some cool things happened like a tea house with a Japanse dude in traditional clothing. He had a smile that seemed as if it was ironed onto his face. But he was really friendly. he offered us a hot cup of tea and on a hot day this can really energize ones body.
Japan day 5
Day 5... time goes fast and slow at the same time, but it was time to move on....bye bye Tokyo and hello farmland O_o
This time we went to a small town deep in the mountains, where there was no Internet and no way to call outside of Japan, for some reason I did not quite understand. We stayed in a Shinjuku wich is like the Ryokan a traditional Japanese home/hotel of sorts. The innkeeper was really tiny exactly as I pictured her to be. The place was really beautiful, not to fancy but enough to make one feel at home Japanese style.
At dinner we ate lots of tradition local stuff for example sweetened grasshopper, I know how disgusting it sounds but it was quite tasty. The best part of it was there was a old Japanese couple, and with my Dutch to Japanese book and awesome knowledge I gained from wasted years of watching anime, we had some sort of conversation that led to drinking lots of sake and beer on the house \o/
Well enjoy the pictures of this beautiful village and scenery.

Japan day 4
Still in Tokyo and the weather is great! Today I planned to go around on my own and since the public transport is so well designed it is not difficult at all. Signs at stations and places where tourists can be found have English directions.
Most of you know that I like Anime, so for today I planned to go to Akihbara :D For those who are unfamiliar with Akihbara it is like the center of the world for anime. The gathering place for weird and strange things where anything is possible O_o
Now in Japan it is Goldenweek this means those crazed hardworking Japanese have some free time of their own.... Akhibara was like Tokyo melted into one big blob of people!!! When I got to the place (10 min walk from hotel) there was no doubt in my mind that I found it... Since the entire place was spammed with anime posters on walls buildings and places where one would not expect. First thing I did was walk into a game arcade, a good place to get deaf ;) but the games where awesome. Part from the games the place was packed with machines where you can win a price, you know those grab machines you find at carnivals. And of course lots and lots and LOTS and LOOOOOOOOOOTS of anime stores cramped into many buildings on every floor and basement O_O Well I think the amount of people stopped me from really doing any shopping so I ended up not buying anything part from a gift for a friend of mine. Now... as I said before expect the weird... there are these girls (shocking enough guys too) dressed in a french maid costume or actually anything they think is cute... or anime related. Then try to lure you into the maidcafe. Now i`m a sucker for cute girls, so there I was sitting in a maidcafe.... an alien world on its on. It started with with a candle that she blew on... and the Japanese gadget started to glow... and then she said something that could be interpreted as: you are now my master... well master or no master I was still a bit in shock... but in a good way I guess. Then the process went on she explained that if the candle goes out I had to leave.. well that's ok. So there I was in a maid cafe watching bunny-girls or with cat-ears etc etc. shouting around in the most high pitched voice imaginable when someone left or ordered. I ate some food smiled and talked with a fellow otaku next to me who seemed to be pro at maidcafes. Taking pictures is not allowed, and for good reason they make tons with it. So of course I picked one of the maids and took a picture. You are still smiling until you get your bill at the end ;P

Japan day 3
Today we went to Nikko. This was 2 hour trip away from Tokyo by train (Shinkansen). The train speed-ed past a unending amount of houses. It looked as if we never left Tokyo. When we arrived at the train station it was a 20 min walk upwards. I am in lack of words to describe how beautiful and breathtaking the scenery and temples where. Tokyo royal garden was nice but this was incomparable!
Well... too much to say so I will not say a word more just watch the pictures and you decide :)

Japan day 2
After some sleep we where gonna explore Tokyo. Now I can say for sure, if you ever plan to visit Japan be prepared to walk a LOT!!!
I still don`t know how I survived but here I am writing this message. We went all over the place. We started at the imperial gardens and oh my god I thought the French had garden skills but this just amazing. Getting around in Tokyo is easy, every 3 minutes a metro stops and like in Holland you can buy a pass that you can charge with a x amount of money.
Well enough blabbering from me.... i`m too tired to think straight let alone work with this Japanese OS and keyboard.

Japan day 1
Hi all, the plane landed safely and faster because the wind was in our favor.
I am really tired so i`l try to my best to keep this understandable.
I`m sleeping in a good hotel with a nice outside view on a concrete wall, part from that there are many funky buttons to press that control your tv and lights etc.
I haven't figured out yet how to set Youtube to English so no videos for now ;(
